Teacher Mode - classroom decor

I interrupt this usual exercises update blog to bring you a classroom update!!

So I am going into my 6th year of being an art teacher.  I am starting this year in a new school.  I am SUPER EXCITED!  I will be in the district that my kids will be going to, I only have 3 preps, and will have only ONE classroom to decorate.

Now with all this awesomeness coming my way I do have to say that I will be missing some amazing teachers from my old school.  I don't know if I would be who I am as a teacher without some of their influences!

Back to the update -

Now that I am in this new district the thing I am most excited about at this moment in summer is decorating!  I have always been in 2 classrooms so I have either had to spend 2x the money to get things in both rooms OR one room suffers and the other is awesome.  So this year I have ONE room that I get to make AWESOME!  Now I dont know how the last teacher decorated - or if she did - but I hope that what I do will inspire the kids the be creative!  Here are a few things that I am getting ready to hang up.

Now if you notice in that second picture - it is supposed to say CREATION.  In all my excitement of getting letters - I forgot the R!  Makes me mad! But it will get there.

Also - I am planning to still work on a couple more things.  Thanks so Mrs. Cassie Stephens!

My room is getting cleaned this week and then I will be in next to start getting things together.  I will be back with a full before and after soon!  I cant wait!

And just because I did it - Here is the workout I did this morning!

Excuse into Reason #3 - Portion Control

I did it!  2 more days of working out.  I'm feeling good!  Again - nothing hard - but I'M DOING IT!!  I love the feeling! I did the following 2 workouts (liked below) plus Yoga with a friend on Friday.  That was my first time doing some real yoga and it felt good - imagine that! Working out feels good. Who knew;)  My hips needed it... but laying on your back pregnant is hard:)

So after finally getting back into the routine of working out there is something that I need to work on - PORTION SIZE!! I am doing all this work to get up, work out and feel good.  Then by the end of the night (about 9:30) I have a bowl of ice cream the size of my head!  How can I keep doing that to myself!!  I work it all off all day just to put it back in my body in one bowl!  I LOOOVVVEEE ice cream and don't think I could fully ever get rid of it - but I need to work on how much I eat.  I told my husband that yesterday.  So what did I do last night?  I used him as my portion control person.  He got me a small bowl of ice cream like I needed, asked for, and I was totally satisfied.  Guess what honey... your my new ice cream scooper :D

Excuse into Reason #3: Portion control - I am working on you.  I don't NEED a huge helping to be happy!

Excuse to Reason #2: I'm pregnant

I always HATE when people tell me that I cant do something because I am pregnant.  'Dont lift that - you're pregnant.' 'Should you be eating that - you're pregnant.'  'Let me get that - you're pregnant.'  I am just pregnant people, LET ME DO IT!!

But then here I am using this pregnancy as an excuse to NOT work out or eat right!  When is there a better time to do this.  If I don't start now then November is going to be HARD!  If I don't start now then there is only more work to do down the road.  More of a disappointment when I don't see the scale go back to where it was before this pregnancy.

What what did I do about this?  I STARTED!  The last 2 mornings I got up and did a workout (I will link one below).  Where they all out, kick your butt workouts?  No!  But they got my out of bed and moving.  Now today I did take off - all those squats - OUCH!! But I did it, and will continue.

Excuse #2 - See ya!

How this all started...

I have been looking for something that would fulfill my need to be active, healthy, and accountable while also bringing in a little extra income.  Who doesn't want that!  I thought I had found the thing for me...

I have many friends that started this program that seems to work for them.  I liked the idea of extra money and also the ability to having people relying on me, which in turn would make me more accountable for myself, RIGHT?!?  So I signed up, I kept bothering my coach about what I should do and when.  What do I tag? What should I say?  Picture or no?  How do you get followers?  How do you get people to sign up with you?  All these things I didn't know and wanted the answers to so that I could make money! In the end I made a post and put it on social media to see what would happen!

I DID IT!  I took the step to help my Heatlth and I want you to join me!  We all have excuses why we DONT do it... and believe me mine was LONG!  What were my excuses?  Im 25 weeks pregnant with Baby #3 (due end of October), Im starting a new job in august, learning a new school, staff and kids, I dont have time, I have 2 active kids (that love me dearly and dont let me work out), I dont have the money, etc.

But along with all these excuses there are SO MANY reasons why I SHOULD do it too!  And some of the reasons are the same and my excuses - I was just looking at them the wrong way.  Im 25 weeks pregnany with #3!  Is there a better excuse!  I have 2 other kids to play, run and live with, and most of all I WANT IT FOR ME!
.
So what are your excuses not to get fit and healthy?  What can we do to change those excused into reasons to GO FOR IT!  If you are interested in getting started on your health and seeing what it takes to turn those excuses into reasons and DO IT - like or comment below and I will add you to my NO BS (excuses into reasons) group where we can figure out where we need to start.

The comments started rolling in - mostly because I said I was pregnant and hadn't really told anyone yet.  But I had a few good friends that wanted a part of it.  The problem, I didn't say the company that I had signed up for.  The second they commented "ME!" I thought "I CANT DO THIS!!  I cant ask these people for money to sign up for something that I have no experience in and can barely afford myself!"  I knew then that this wasn't for me.  I also knew that I had signed up for the wrong reasons.  I wanted to money - not the results.  I asked anyway just to see the response.  What I got - nothing back!  I knew that it wasn't going to work.  I got on customer service that night and gave up!

Some may say that I gave up to quickly.  And maybe I did.  But for me I now know that I cant do it!  I cant ask people for money for something I don't do myself.  I know that I am active.  I know how to workout.  I know what I want to be!  I dont have to have a program charge me money for something I can do on my own.

That is EXCUSE #1 turning into the REASON #1 - Excuse - I cant do this myself.  Reason - I don't need someone telling me what to do.  I can tell myself what I need and DO IT!  And I am!  Crossfit I am looking back at you!  A little modified for now - but you better watch out!

This is how this blog all started.  Wanting to feel fulfilled.  This document of physical, personal, work, and art related Excuses into Reasons will hopefully make me feel accountable - but also see what I already have in my life to appreciate!
